Sir Wilfred's Story

Sir Wilfred's Coffee of Maui is regarded by local islanders and our customers across the globe as a true Maui gem.  In pursuit of the American Dream in paradise, Ohio natives and newlyweds Wilfred (Bill) and Cathy Burton moved to Maui in 1976 and poured their hearts and savings into opening the first coffee and tobacco retire store on the island.  Sir Wilfred's has always specialized in gourmet Hawaiian coffee, including 100% Kona.
Over the past four plus decades, Sir Wilfred's has taken on a lot of exciting opportunities all over the island.  We are proud to have had a long-term presence at the local favorite and now historic Maui Mall in Kahului as well as the Lahaina Cannery Mall when it was first introduced as the hottest new attraction on the West Side.  Most recently, we've had hit stores on Front Street in Old Town Lahaina and the upper scale Whaler's Village in Ka'anapali, where we also hosted a bustling coffee kiosk providing hot and cold drinks to every thirsty soul wondering the Ka'anapali hotel strip.
As times have surely changed for all the small businesses of this world, Sir Wilfred's has too. We said goodbye to our mom, Cathy, in September of 2014 and our retail presence on Front Street in Old Town Lahaina in the Fall of 2016.
We are so pleased to be able to focus 100% of our attention on shipping our amazing coffee around the world. By the pound. Roasted fresh to order on Maui.
Mahalo for supporting small business,
Bill, Monte, and Allison
